The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan commissioned this structure in the loving memory of his favorite wife- Mumtaz.

About 50 km away from Agra, this region is dotted with temples dedicated to Lord Krishna; the most famous one being Bakke Bihari and the Eskcon Temple.

Mehtab Bagh is directly across the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal. From these beautiful gardens you can have a clear view of the Taj sans the tourists.

Sikandra

It is in Sikandra that the grave of Akbar lies. Four red sandstone gates show the way to the tomb complex: one is Muslim, one Hindu, one Christian and one is Akbar's patent work. Akbar's mausoleum is open for the public all through the day.

Agra Fort

Located in the city of Fatehpur Sikiri, the Agra Fort is yet another famous historical site that is among the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The design and structure is similar to the Red Fort in New Delhi.
